The chief of staff, Army announced the assignment of Maj. Gen. Thomas R. Tempel Jr., commanding general, Western Regional Medical Command; market manager, Puget Sound Enhanced Multi-Service Market; and chief, U.S. Army Dental Corps, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, to commanding general, Regional Health Command, Central – Provisional; market manager, San Antonio Health System; and chief, U.S. Army Dental Corps, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.

AUSA Tacoma Subchapter Hosts Fun-raiser
AUSA's Capt. Meriwether Lewis Chapter's Tacoma Subchapter supports the Warrior Transition Battalion, Western Region Medical Command, and Madigan Army Medical Center. As such, the Tacoma Subchapter is hosting the second annual auction & beer and wine tasting on November 12, 2014 beginning at 5:30pm at the Red Lion in Tacoma. The auction is the subchapter’s premiere fundraising opportunity and we need your help.

Pentagon Sets Up Multiservice Healthcare
Brig. Gen. John Cho, CG, Western Regional Medical Command briefed the Chamber’s Military Affairs Committee at a recent Military Affairs Forum about the state and direction of military medicine in our community.
He said the Pentagon recently inaugurated the Defense Health Agency, followed by the designation of six multiservice healthcare markets in separate regions. The Western Regional Medical Command has responsibility for an “enhanced Puget Sound multiservice market” that includes Army, Air Force and Navy. BG Cho commands Army medicine at hospitals in 20 states, of which Madigan Army Medical Center is the largest.
