McChord Field is scheduled to receive its last C-17
Globemaster III March 27. In addition, there will be a small ceremony to
celebrate the 14 years of the C-17’s role in the 62nd and 446th Airlift Wing's
mission.
The aircraft delivery is part of a normal rotation to
maintain the fleet at an authorized level. It is the 220th out of 224 that was
ordered by the U.S Air Force. The C-17 will be delivered straight from the
Boeing production facility in Long Beach, Calif.
