Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta today announced that Air Force Brig. Gen. Jerry P. Martinez has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general.  Martinez is currently serving as the director, joint integration, deputy chief of staff for operations, plans and requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. BG Martinez was formerly a 62nd AW Commander.
