The QRMC will focus on four main areas:
- The compensation for service performed in a combat zone, combat operation, or hostile fire area, or while exposed to a hostile fire event;
- The Reserve and National Guard's compensation and benefits for consistency with their current and planned utilization;
- The compensation benefits available to wounded warriors, caregivers, and survivors of those fallen service members; and
- The pay incentives for critical career fields such as mental health professionals, linguists/translators, remotely piloted vehicle operators, and special operations personnel.
Federal law mandates that every four years, the secretary of defense conduct a review of the principles and concepts of the compensation system for military members.
